Is it weird if I say I don't have the urge to socialize?

Is it weird if I say I'm not interested in hanging out with most people?

Is it weird if I (very honestly) say that to me, most people are useless in my eyes, which is the reason why I'm not interested in being close to them?

My father always told me to choose my friends wisely, to never be close with those who are useless. I didn't really listen to him but subconsciously, I've been following it very religiously.

But that's not the problem. The problem is that, most people (well, at my college at least) are in my scope of useless therefore, I'm not interested being socially close to them. That's the reason why I don't have many friends.

But the friend that I have now, he's a good guy. He might not be the kind of guy that others would like, but if you know more about him, you'd know that he's the kind of guy that you can trust your life with. For giving me this kind of friend, I can only thank God.
